OREM, Utah -- An Orem man convicted of killing his wife believes new evidence will show he is innocent. Attorneys for Conrad Truman, 33, requested he receive a new trial and be released from prison based, in part, on a new analysis from a deputy state medical examiner.
PROVO — Attorneys for an Orem man serving up to life in prison for murdering his wife have called for a new trial, leveling serious allegations that investigators and prosecutors manipulated evidence, altered reports and misled jurors.
In today’s legal system, a motion for new trial is typical in a murder case. Now, nearly three years after an Orem woman’s murder, her imprisoned husband — the man found by a jury to be guilty of the crime — is appealing his case.
